The Plateau Excellent Principals, Headteachers and Teachers Awards (PEPHTA 2025) successfully took place in September 2025, marking another significant milestone in the African Forum for Innovative Teachers’ (AFFiT) commitment to strengthening educational leadership and celebrating excellence in schools across Nigeria.
The program commenced with a Day 1 Capacity-Building Training Session held at the Government Science and Technical College, Bukuru, Jos South, Plateau State, bringing together principals, headteachers, and teachers for an impactful learning experience.
Capacity Building and Leadership Development
The opening training session focused on professional capacity building, leadership development, and innovation in education. Participants engaged actively in discussions and practical learning designed to strengthen school leadership and improve teaching effectiveness.
The session marked the beginning of a transformative journey aimed at raising educational standards and preparing educators for evaluation, induction, and recognition under the PEPHTA framework.
Grand Finale Celebrates Outstanding Educators
PEPHTA 2025 reached a memorable climax at the Grand Finale, where outstanding principals and teachers were honored for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
Award recipients were celebrated and presented with cash prizes, recognizing their remarkable contributions to education and school leadership in Plateau State.
The event was graced by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Plateau State, Dr. Mrs. Kachollom Pyam Gang, who delivered an inspiring charge to educators, urging them to remain committed to their calling and to fully implement the skills and knowledge gained throughout the PEPHTA program.
Honorary Fellowship and AFFiT Recognition
In recognition of her strong support for education, Dr. Mrs. Kachollom Pyam Gang was inducted as an Honorary Fellow of AFFiT and officially decorated as a Matron of AFFiT.
In addition, participating principals and teachers were also inducted into the AFFiT Fellowship, marking a renewed commitment to innovation, leadership, and professional excellence within the education sector.
Tribute to Late Pastor Pam Bot Andrew
A deeply emotional moment of the ceremony was the tribute paid to Late Pastor Pam Bot Andrew, a respected AFFiT Fellow known for his dedication to education and service.
To honor his legacy, AFFiT presented a donation of ₦200,000 to his wife as a gesture of love, support, and solidarity. His contributions to education and leadership continue to inspire educators across Plateau State and beyond.
Strengthening the Future of Education
PEPHTA 2025 once again demonstrated that when educators are celebrated, empowered, and supported, the future of education grows stronger.
Through training, recognition, fellowship, and compassion, the program reaffirmed AFFiT’s mission to build resilient educators and promote excellence in teaching and school leadership across Nigeria.
