Abuja, Nigeria — 2026–2031 — The Standtall Africa Initiative (STAi), in partnership with the African Forum for Innovative Teachers (AFFiT), has launched PROJECT 6, a six-year continental campaign to redefine, rebrand, and reposition African teachers as leaders of education and innovation.
Under the theme “Making the African Teacher and Leadership Great Again,” PROJECT 6 will train, empower, and recognize teachers across Africa through six strategic pillars: skills development, professional recognition, retention, motivation, wellbeing, and leadership development. By 2031, the campaign aims to reach 30 million teachers, student-teachers, and learners, creating a new generation of visionary educators and school leaders.
PROJECT 6 combines digital innovation, mentorship, scholarships, economic empowerment, and continental networking to tackle challenges like teacher attrition, low professional dignity, and outdated training models. Signature initiatives include the Standtall Leadership Development Initiative, teacher fellowships, mentorship corps, and continental teacher innovation forums.
This historic campaign mobilizes 1,000 ambassadors, partnerships with governments, corporate institutions, and the African diaspora to transform education systems, enhance teacher recognition, and build sustainable leadership pipelines across the continent.
PROJECT 6 is Africa’s boldest teacher empowerment initiative yet, ensuring that teachers are skilled, respected, and positioned to drive national growth. Governments, educators, institutions, and citizens are invited to join this movement to empower teachers, strengthen education, and inspire Africa’s next generation of leaders.
