Nigeria — Strengthening Teacher Development and Innovation
The African Forum for Innovative Teachers (AFFiT), a subsidiary of the StandTall Africa Initiative, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Education and her cabinet on 28th August. The visit provided an opportunity to present AFFiT’s vision for teacher development, retention, and educational innovation across Nigeria.
The high-level meeting fostered fruitful discussions on strategic areas of collaboration, including:
Teacher professional development and continuous training
ICT and entrepreneurship education for educators and students
Girl-child empowerment programs
Broader stakeholder engagement with key agencies such as NUC, UBEC, JAMB, and NBTE
Sharing Knowledge and Strengthening Partnerships
As a gesture of appreciation and commitment to knowledge-sharing, AFFiT and StandTall Africa presented a selection of books to the Honourable Minister, symbolizing a shared dedication to continuous learning and educational excellence.
During the meeting, a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally submitted to the Ministry, marking a significant step toward a long-term partnership aimed at sustaining the teacher workforce and improving education quality nationwide.
