AFFiT Inducts Research Fellows at College of Education Zuba

February 22, 2026 — The AFFiT Institute today successfully inducted 11 lecturers into the AFFiT Research Fellows Forum at the College of Education, Zuba, Abuja, marking a significant step in advancing research excellence, academic leadership, and institutional development in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.

The induction ceremony brought together academic leaders, education stakeholders, and members of the AFFiT research community to formally welcome the new fellows into a growing continental network of scholars committed to applied research and global academic alignment.

Delivering the keynote address, the Director-General of AFFiT, Dr Ogah Emmanuel, charged the newly inducted fellows to understand that research leadership requires commitment, discipline, and measurable impact. He emphasized that membership in the AFFiT Research Fellows Forum is not symbolic but responsibility-driven, requiring active engagement, intellectual productivity, and strategic contribution to educational transformation.

According to the Director-General, research must move beyond theory to applied solutions that strengthen institutions, improve teaching methodologies, and support national development goals. He reiterated AFFiT’s mission to build a dynamic research ecosystem that integrates innovation, ICT, and continental collaboration.

Also speaking at the event was Dr Sa’ad Ibrahim, Chairman of COEASU, Zuba Branch, and Chairman of the AFFiT Research Fellows Forum. In his address, he commended AFFiT for expanding research opportunities for lecturers and fostering a collaborative academic culture. He encouraged the inductees to leverage the forum as a platform for professional growth, interdisciplinary partnerships, and impactful scholarship within and beyond the College of Education Zuba.

A highlight of the ceremony was the formal oath-taking session, where the 11 lecturers pledged to uphold integrity, pursue excellence in research, and contribute to the advancement of education in Nigeria and across Africa.
