A New Generation of Innovative Teachers Begins with You
Welcome to the African Forum for Innovative Teachers (AFFiT) Student Membership — a platform created to prepare student teachers for the future of education in Africa. As a student in a College of Education, your journey as an educator does not begin after graduation; it begins now. AFFiT gives you early access to professional identity, leadership development, innovation, and mentorship that will guide your growth from campus to classroom and beyond.
AFFiT Student Membership connects you to a continental community of aspiring teachers who are passionate about learning, purpose-driven service, and excellence. It is designed to help you develop confidence, competence, and clarity about your role as a future educator in a rapidly changing world. Through this platform, students are equipped with the mindset and skills required to meet modern classroom demands and contribute meaningfully to national and continental development.
The African Forum for Innovative Teachers (AFFiT) was established by the StandTall Africa Initiative, an organization recognized for its long-standing commitment to educational transformation. Building on years of teacher development, research promotion, and innovation-driven programs, AFFiT was created to strengthen the teaching profession by empowering educators early — starting from their student years.
Across Nigeria and Africa, many student teachers graduate without adequate exposure to innovation, digital skills, mentorship, or professional guidance. This gap often leads to low confidence, limited career direction, and poor preparedness for real classroom challenges. AFFiT Student Membership addresses this challenge by providing structured support, continuous learning opportunities, and professional belonging from the very beginning of your teaching journey.
Through AFFiT, students are introduced to modern teaching practices, leadership training, entrepreneurship skills, and professional ethics that prepare them for both classroom excellence and personal sustainability. The program supports your growth academically, professionally, and socially, ensuring you graduate not just with a certificate, but with direction, identity, and capacity.
Student Membership marks your official induction into the AFFiT community as a pre-service teacher. Through AFFiT’s partnership with the National Association of Nigerian Colleges of Education Students (NANCES), the induction fee has been heavily subsidized to make participation accessible to all students. This one-time induction secures your lifelong professional pathway within AFFiT, with only a minimal yearly due to sustain active membership.
As you progress and graduate into classroom service, AFFiT Student Members have the opportunity to upgrade into full Fellowship status, unlocking broader professional recognition, leadership roles, research opportunities, and national engagement. This transition ensures continuity — from student teacher to professional educator — within one supportive system.
AFFiT Student Membership offers more than training; it offers belonging. Members gain access to mentorship, leadership exposure, skills development, innovation programs, conferences, and national education initiatives. Students are encouraged to discover their strengths, develop confidence, and prepare for meaningful careers in education and related sectors.
By joining AFFiT as a student, you become part of a growing movement committed to restoring dignity to the teaching profession and building a generation of educators who are innovative, empowered, and globally relevant.
AFFiT remains committed to uniting African educators for global impact — and your journey begins here.
