African Forum for Innovative Teachers (AFFIT) is a dynamic and forward-thinking organization proudly affiliated with two esteemed institutions: Standtall Africa Initiative and STAi Research Institute for Leadership, Management, and Technology. Our organizational structure is purposefully designed to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and advance the mission of empowering teachers and transforming education in Africa.

Key Components of AFFIT's Organizational Structure:

National Executives

At the heart of AFFIT's leadership is a dedicated team of National Executives who steer the organization's strategic direction. This team comprises visionary individuals, including the National President, National Vice-President, National Secretary, National Project Director, and National Publicity Secretary. They work in unison with AFFiT Director General to ensure AFFIT's mission is translated into impactful initiatives and programs.

State Chapters’ Leadership

AFFIT operates at both the national and state levels. Each state chapter is represented by State Chapters’ Executives who oversee and coordinate activities, projects, and engagements within their respective states. This team includes the State Chapters’ Presidents, State Chapters’ Vice-President, State Chapters’ Secretary, State Chapters’ Project Director, and State Chapters’ Publicity Secretary. These leaders play a pivotal role in connecting AFFIT with teachers and communities at the grassroots level.

Advisory Board

AFFIT is guided by an esteemed Advisory Board composed of distinguished individuals renowned for their expertise in education, leadership, and innovation. This board provides strategic counsel and invaluable insights to shape AFFIT's initiatives and elevate its impact.

Project Committees

Our dynamic project committees are composed of passionate members who drive the implementation of specific initiatives within AFFIT's portfolio. These committees focus on areas such as research, teacher training, community engagement, and entrepreneurship, ensuring a holistic approach to our mission.

AFFIT Business Ventures

In our quest for self-sustainability, we have established AFFIT Business Ventures, a segment dedicated to diverse entrepreneurial endeavors. This includes publishing, production, agriculture, and more. These ventures generate revenue, fueling our educational initiatives while creating economic opportunities for our members and communities.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

AFFiT Director General:

The Director General of AFFIT plays a pivotal role in overseeing the overall management, strategic direction, and effective operation of the organization. The DG functions encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at achieving AFFIT's mission of empowering teachers and transforming education by leveraging the professional skills, qualifications, and capacity of the National Executive team.

National President:

Provide leadership and strategic direction to the National Executive team, taking directives from the Director General of AFFIT.

Represent AFFIT nationally and internationally.

Oversee the activities of the National Executives and ensure effective coordination.

Foster collaboration between different regions and chapters of AFFIT.

Make key decisions in consultation with the National Executives.

National Vice-President:

Support the National President in their responsibilities and act as their representative in their absence.

Collaborate with other National Executives to implement organizational strategies.

Provide guidance and support to regional and chapter leaders.

Assist in resolving conflicts or issues within the organization.

Contribute to decision-making processes and organizational development.

National Secretary:

Manage administrative tasks and ensure the smooth operation of AFFIT at the national level.

Maintain records, minutes, and correspondence of AFFIT.

Coordinate communication between different levels of the organization.

Assist the National President in executing organizational strategies and initiatives.

Support the National President in organizing meetings, conferences, and events.

National Project Director:

Develop and implement strategic projects and initiatives for AFFIT.

Coordinate project planning, execution, and evaluation.

Collaborate with regional and chapter Project Directors to ensure effective project implementation.

Monitor project progress and provide regular reports to the National Executives.

Identify funding opportunities and oversee budgeting for projects.

National Publicity Secretary:

Develop and execute publicity strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of AFFIT.

Manage AFFIT's media relations, including press releases and media coverage.

Coordinate social media campaigns, website content, and other promotional materials.

Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.

Monitor public perception and sentiment towards AFFIT.

The Council Member

National President

Mr. Okpe Samuel

Mr. Okpe Samuel is an alumnus of the University of Jos, Nigeria. A teacher, educationist and administrator, he is the National President of Africa Forum For Innovative Teachers (AFFiT).

Young Okpe began his career as a classroom teacher in 1993 and rose to the post of principal in 2015. At various times he was Examination Officer, Head of Department, Vice Principal (Academics) and Vice Principal (Administration) respectively.

Of vast experience, he has attended several training programmes, local and international. In 2017, he attended a course on Management of Public Records at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) Lagos. He attended Top Schools Conference and Tours in Dubai (2022) and Leadership Development for Managers and Directors in London (2023)

Numerous awards trail Mr. Okpe in recognition of his resourcefulness and initiatives. These include:

This personality is an officer and a gentleman of high moral rectitude, dutiful and loyal. Dr. Okpe is the Principal of Government Secondary School, Kwali-Abuja and National PRO of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS).

Happily married to Mrs, Helen Okpe, they are blessed with three children.

National Secretary

Gloria Nnaji Nzeh (Mrs), mTRCN, fAFFiT, mNAEAP, mCCEAM.

Gloria is a seasoned educator and licensed teacher with two decades of experience in the teaching profession. A committed professional who has excelled in roles such as Principal, Academic Administrator, Educational Consultant, Corporate trainer and Digital facilitator. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Planning and several other degrees, diplomas and certificates from both national and international institutions. She brings expertise in, educational leadership, curriculum development, research, entrepreneurship and innovative teaching methods. She received the QHL Africa’s Agenda 2063 Digital Ambassadorial Award in 2022.

As a fellow of the African Forum for Innovative Teachers (AFFiT), Certified member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), member of the Nigerian Association for Educational Administration & Planning (NAEAP) and Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration & Management (CCEAM), Gloria is a respected figure in the education community.

Her contributions extend beyond the classroom, with research publications, presentations at national conferences, and active involvement in digital facilitation and training. Her multifaceted career includes serving as a pastor, heading her own consultancy firm, and contributing to curriculum development at STAi University and a few others. These roles highlight her diverse skill set and leadership capabilities.

Her dynamic leadership, extensive experience, and dedication to innovation in education position her as a transformative force within AFFiT and the broader educational landscape. Gloria’s passion for promoting the teaching profession and advancing education in Africa is further reflected in her role as the first National Secretary of the African Forum for Innovative Teachers (AFFiT).

Director Partnership, Consultancy and Collaboration

Mr. Victor ORIFAH

Mr. Victor ORIFAH, the Principal of Government Secondary School Gwagwalada was born on 7th April, 1968. An alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, University of Benin and the National Open University of Nigeria, holds an M.Ed Degree in Educational Technology and currently a doctoral candidate in the same field.

He has attended several trainings locally and internationally on best practices in Education, some of which include; ANCOPSS MCPT(2015- 2022), ANCOPSS National conferences(2015- 2022), ICP in Kenya(2018), SOP schools Conference and Tours - School of the future at Dubai, UAE( 2022), Education Immersion Program in Porthmouth, UK (January) Short Course on Youth Entrepreneurship Education Development Programme at Brunel Business School, UK(May, 2023).

Chief Consultant

Yusuf Bilques

Yusuf Bilques is a Diplomatic Fellow A Billion doors Initiative, Vice Chairman Kaduna State Civil Society Coalition against SGBV, coordinator Innovation Hub Kaduna State University, Head of programs Center for Study and Resolution Domestic Violence, a consultant, a researcher, gender based violence actor in Kaduna state, was a senior program officer at LEAD NIG and with experience in community mobilization and advocacy, community based monitoring and evaluation and excellent facilitation and communication skills with recognized abilities in networking and data collection having worked at different levels with international and national organization to include Rehabilitation Center Kaduna state, DFID UK (V4C), Malaria consortium, UNICEF, W4H on qualitative and quantitative research as state consultant, gender and masculinity expert trained by DFID (V4C) and part time lecturer Kaduna state University, a former staff of National Directorate of employment and INEC (Adhoc) with vast expertise working with youths at grassroots level.

Having graduated with BSc. Sociology (second class upper division) from Kaduna State University and MSc. Sociology from University of Ibadan and currently studying for a PHD at Bayero University Kano and being a proactive leader and planner with expertise in budget plan, execution and analysis, report writing community entry, emotional intelligence, cultural competence, ethics, and a network of youth coalition accrue from past workshops.

She is a member of professional bodies including: Kaduna state Active Squad Against SGBV, Open Governance Platform Kaduna State, NASA, Nigerian Association of criminologist, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM),50MAWSPKaduna and ANWBN.
